Jame's bespoke reptile room
James needed a dedicated space for his reptiles that could provide the warmth, security and protection they require year-round. This bespoke garden room was designed with excellent insulation and pest protection in mind, creating a comfortable, practical environment tailored specifically to his collection.
The initial challenge
James needed a dedicated, purpose-built space for his reptiles, with the right environment to house his collection comfortably and securely throughout the year.
Maintaining warmth was a key consideration, so the room needed to be highly insulated to help retain heat and support consistent temperatures. Protection against unwanted pests was also particularly important given the specialist use of the space.
Our approach
We designed a fully insulated bespoke garden room around James’ specific requirements, creating a secure and practical space dedicated entirely to his reptile collection.
The high level of insulation helps to retain warmth and create a more stable internal environment, making it easier to manage the individual temperatures required by the reptiles. Particular attention was also given to the construction and sealing of the room to minimise opportunities for pests to enter.
The internal layout provides plenty of space for James’ reptile enclosures and equipment, while maintaining a clean, practical environment that can be comfortably used throughout the year.
The finished room
The finished garden room gives James a dedicated home for his reptile collection, completely separate from the main house and designed around exactly how the space needs to perform.
With its fully insulated construction, secure finish and purpose-built layout, the room provides a warm, protected and practical year-round environment for both James and his reptiles.
It’s also a great example of just how versatile a bespoke garden room can be, extending far beyond the traditional home office, gym or entertainment space.
