The initial challenge

With limited space available, the goal was to create a garden room that could serve two purposes without feeling cramped. Peter needed a comfortable office for daily use, along with a separate area for storage.

During the early stages, a ground screw test revealed that the soil conditions were not suitable, which required a fast and reliable alternative to keep the project on track.

Our approach

We designed a smart internal layout that divides the space into two distinct zones. A dedicated office area provides a bright and comfortable working environment, while a separate storage section keeps everything neatly tucked away.

To overcome the ground conditions, we quickly adapted the build plan and installed a concrete base within 48 hours, ensuring a solid and long-lasting foundation without delaying the project.

The exterior finish combines Shou Sugi Ban timber cladding with sleek black steel, creating a bold, contemporary look that is both durable and visually striking.

The finished room

The completed space proves that even a compact garden room can deliver impressive functionality. The office feels open and inviting, with plenty of natural light and a clean internal finish that supports focused work.

The addition of a separate storage area keeps the main space clutter free, resulting in a garden room that is both practical and stylish.
