Angela wanted to create extra space for her family without extending the main house. Her vision was a stylish and self-contained garden room where everyone could unwind, spend time together, or host occasional guests. We transformed a disused garage and outbuilding into a modern living snug with a sleek design, full plumbing, and sustainable materials. The result is a comfortable, private space with year-round usability and a bold architectural finish.

Angela came to us looking to replace an old garage and uneven garden area with a space that could serve her family in multiple ways. The goal was to add a quiet, comfortable snug with a bathroom, perfect for relaxation, hosting, or simply having that bit of extra room. The project involved removing an asbestos roof, clearing the site, extending beyond the original footprint, and managing challenging garden levels.
We began with the safe removal of the asbestos garage roof and the full demolition of the existing structure. Our team reused the original foundations where possible and installed new concrete foundations to extend the footprint. A retaining wall was constructed to stabilise the garden slope, and we laid a hardcore sub-base before pouring a 150mm concrete slab with a damp-proof membrane.
An existing manhole was relocated, and we managed the required application to Yorkshire Water. The new garden room was built with a fully insulated steel-framed structure, clad in galvanised black steel for a bold, modern look. Internally, the space was designed with a fully fitted bathroom, LED lighting, durable flooring, electric heating, and wired internet—ensuring it could be used just like any other room in the home.
The finished space is a stunning garden snug that feels like a natural extension of the home. Black steel cladding and anthracite aluminium bi-fold doors give the exterior a clean, architectural edge. Inside, crisp white walls, soft lighting, and commercial-grade flooring create a calm, inviting atmosphere.
Complete with its own bathroom and connected to the main house via dedicated electrics and wired internet, the room works beautifully for family time, quiet escapes, or occasional overnight stays. Landscaping around the structure ensured a level, accessible finish that integrates smoothly with the garden.
"Highly recommended. Jamie and his team did a number of research visits to make sure the final build maximised the space. They made sure that any issues that came up were promptly resolved and communicated with me throughout. I am absolutely delighted with my new space and could not have asked for a better company to trust with this investment."

This was the only company who gave us full peace of mind from preparing the base to the actual Garden Building, all included in price.
