Alison's indoor-outdoor garden retreat

The initial challenge

Alison wanted a beautifully designed garden office that would combine a practical workspace with an inviting outdoor area.

The project presented some challenges from the outset, particularly around the existing trees and ground conditions. The foundations needed careful consideration to ensure the garden room could be installed successfully while working around the surrounding landscape.

The aim was to create something that felt thoughtfully integrated into the garden, with a high-quality finish and features that would make the space enjoyable beyond the working day.

Our approach

We worked closely with the landscapers to plan a bespoke garden office that made the most of its surroundings, carefully adapting the installation to overcome the challenges presented by the existing trees and foundations.

The design incorporates large sliding doors with integrated blinds, allowing plenty of natural light into the room while giving Alison the flexibility to create privacy whenever needed.

We also included a generous decking area and covered outdoor canopy, extending the usable space beyond the garden room itself and creating a sheltered spot to sit and enjoy the garden.

Every element was considered as part of the wider design, from the building's positioning to the connection between the indoor and outdoor areas.

The finished room

The completed project is a striking garden office that offers so much more than a traditional workspace.

Large sliding doors create a beautiful connection between the interior and the garden, while the integrated blinds provide privacy without compromising the clean, contemporary appearance.

Outside, the decking and covered canopy add another dimension to the space, providing a welcoming area for relaxing or spending time outdoors.

Combined with the surrounding landscaping, the result is one of our most impressive projects, showing how thoughtful design and careful planning can transform a garden into a space that's both practical and beautiful.
